SKATEPARK + PUMP TRACK
We are partnering with Pivot Custom — a division of American Ramp Company, working with renowned designer Tito Porrata — to build a custom 15,000 sq. ft. concrete plaza-style skate park and 5,000 sq. ft. asphalt pump track.
Designed for everything with wheels: skateboarding, BMX, scooters, and adaptive riders. The plaza will feature rideable art installations that blur the line between sport and public art.
"Action sports, enjoyed by over 17 million people in the U.S., are a powerful tool for positive youth development. They promote physical activity, build mental resilience, and foster a strong sense of community and belonging."
— The Skatepark Project, founded by Tony Hawk
What is a Pump Track?
A pump track is like a mini race track with bumps, jumps, and bermed turns. Instead of pedaling, riders use their body — "pumping" — to build speed. Pump tracks are perfect for all ages and skill levels, building balance, coordination, and agility while being genuinely addictive fun. You don't need experience to start — just a helmet and a bike, scooter, or skateboard.

Michigan's First Authentic Outdoor Bouldering Structures
We are partnering with EP Climbing — the world's leading manufacturer of climbing walls and the official supplier of Olympic climbing walls (Tokyo 2020, Paris 2024) — to install three bouldering structures in Ella Sharp Park.
Three boulders, three challenge levels: one designed for kids, one for beginners, and one for advanced climbers. All are 12 feet tall. All are free to use. All require nothing but your shoes and your courage.
What is Bouldering?
Bouldering is rock climbing without ropes or harnesses. Instead of climbing straight up, you climb around the boulder — solving movement "problems" with your body and mind. It builds strength, flexibility, balance, and confidence. And it is wildly fun for the whole family.
Mountain Biking Trail System
Legit and mapped
With $750,000 in state funding already secured — thanks to the support of Experience Jackson, Rep. Kathy Schmaltz, Senator Sue Shink, and the State of Michigan — we are building a modern, professional-grade mountain biking network exceeding 15 miles within Ella Sharp Park.
The revamped trail system will be purpose-built to resist erosion, enhance safety, and meet regional destination benchmarks for singletrack quality. We are also launching a community Equipment Library, allowing residents and visitors to check out bikes, helmets, and gear for free.
